“The population cannot be neglected”: COE extends alerts due to active tropical wave

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) extended weather alerts this Saturday due to the impact of an active tropical wave, which will cause heavy rainfall across much of the country. The director of the COE, Juan Manuel Méndez, warned that  the population cannot be careless  due to the atmospheric conditions forecast for the next few hours. In that regard, the province of San José de Ocoa remains on red alert, while Monte Plata, La Altagracia, the National District, San Cristóbal, Peravia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, and Santo Domingo remain on yellow alert. The provinces of Monseñor Nouel, Independencia, Puerto Plata, Santiago Rodríguez, Azua, Duarte, Bahoruco, Santiago, Barahona, Valverde, Montecristi, Dajabón, San Juan, and Pedernales are under green alert.
